I have a '98 and a '04 and both sound great ! I put a fender '62 pickup in the '98 and improved tone alot. '04 has new standard pickup and sounds good but will change that also. I use these in a rock & blues band. they are great for gigs i don't want to take my '73 or american standard to( bars etc.) good solid bass for a good price !
