The Models 1401 through 1403 are specially designed for amplified music instruments. The world famous Aural Exciter(tm) and Big Bottom(tm) have been condensed into a small battery powered case that can be taken anywhere. The 3 models are voiced especially for the class of instrument -- acoustic, bass or guitar. They share everything in common -- all features, controls, etc. -- except specific differences in tonality that best complement the class of instrument.
Feature:
Has it all in a basic package. The best and smallest piece of gear!! The only thing it could maybe have would be a Gain section to dial in overdrive with a real 12Ax7 tube, but not necessary

Nice sturdy case and solid construction

About the same as a pre-amp but much less than buying a pre-amp and a BBE maximizer and better sounding
Desirability:
Very subtle effect at first, but after using it for 10 minutes, turn the effect off and you will be surprised at how bad your sound was before you bought this pedal.
Sound:
This is an amazing piece of equipment. This will fatten your sound without making it muddy. If you can run this through your effects loop you will get the best results versus running this between your bass in amp. A must have for any bass rig.

Overall:
The features are very easy to understand and is basically my preamp now. I've owned tons of gear and more knobs definately doesn't mean better. This is very simple and is an all-in-one box to enhance your sound, pre-amp/EQ, and direct box.
